My comfort zone is a good place to reside. The last time I left it, I decorated a room that made me want to cry everytime I went in to put laundry away.
3 years ago, when this house was purchased, it was our kids' first times in their own rooms. Violet wanted to go all-out girly. She saw a nailpolish hot-pink and fell in love. My comfort zone was nice, warm and happy. However, I jumped right out into the cold and bought the paint.
The sick perfectionist in me needs to point out that the curtains match the wall perfectly in person. Just not in pictures. Some of the stuff was from Ikea. The wicker headboard was from Walmart.com. The shelf to hold all of her treasures was from Saver's. It was 3 dollars and horrendously ugly. I sanded, primed and painted it. The table lamp was a steal from pbkids.com. The bedding and big lamp were from Target.
Violet said about her room: "It's every little girl's dream!"
That very well may be, but this mother couldn't hack it. I patiently gritted my teeth and waited for the color to drive her crazy. Finally happened this past year. When I was hugely pregnant, of course.
Now that little Jack-Jack is happier to entertain himself and takes great naps, I have started the transformation. Stay tuned....
